Find Your Essentials According to Your Hair Profile
What if we treated hair the way we treat skin? That's the founding principle of REVERIE, and it's what sets it apart from every hair brand you already know.
Clinically tested actives, pH adjusted product by product, organic ingredients sourced and documented: REVERIE applies to the scalp and the hair fiber the same rigor that the best skincare applies to the face.
Founded in 2011 by California hairstylist Garrett Markenson, the brand rests on a conviction that's rare in the hair world: fewer products, better chosen, for real results. Zero sulfates, silicones, parabens or artificial fragrances. Organic ingredients sourced from fair-trade family farms.
REVERIE organizes its recommendations around four hair profiles, not generic types. Here's how to find yours.

You air-dry your hair
Shampoo, Conditioner, Milk, Ever
Air-drying is one of the most demanding profiles, precisely because it feels like doing nothing. In reality, letting hair dry without intervention exposes the fiber to all its weaknesses: frizz, lack of definition, hair with no hold. Success lies entirely in what you apply to damp hair, in the minutes that follow shampooing.
On the cleansing side, the Shampoo and Conditioner duo supports daily use. Free of sulfates and silicones, its formula cleanses gently without drying out the fiber, for hair that stays clean longer with no heavy feel.
The Conditioner closes the cuticle and eases detangling after every wash, without weighing down or leaving residue, an essential condition for Milk to then work fully on damp hair.
It's the most award-winning leave-in treatment in the range. Silicone-free and lightweight, Milk layers easily and is applied in 2 to 4 pumps on very damp hair straight out of the shower. Garrett Markenson is precise about this: applied to very damp hair, it locks in hydration and lastingly prevents frizz. Its formula combines amino acids that strengthen the fiber against breakage, shea butter, pracaxi oil and oat proteins for hydration and heat protection, plus a French mushroom extract that protects against pollution. The result: hair that dries without frizz, without residue, without heaviness.
Ever comes into play once the hair is dry, as a finishing touch. Two drops warmed in the palms, massaged through the lengths. Its blend of cold-pressed marula oil, olive-derived squalane and crambe abyssinica oil (clinical studies demonstrated a +191% improvement in elasticity after 12 treatments) brings a satiny finish with no greasy effect at all. Ever can also be used as a roots-to-ends pre-shampoo treatment, or as an intensive overnight mask once a week.
The method
Step 1: Cleansing and care
Pour the shampoo into your hands, emulsify it and apply it section by section on wet hair. Add water, lather, rinse and repeat. For a longer-lasting wash, always do a double shampoo.
Apply the conditioner to wet hair. Massage from lengths to ends. Leave on for 3 to 5 minutes for an optimal result. Rinse and style as usual. Suitable for color-treated hair and daily use.
Step 2: Preparation with Milk
Apply the Milk anti-frizz leave-in treatment to wet hair, right after the shower, to seal in hydration and prevent frizz. Milk is an adjustable product: start with two pumps and add more depending on the thickness and length of your hair until you reach the desired result. You can also use it on the second and third days between washes to refresh your hair and tame frizz.
Step 3: Finish with Ever Recovery oil.
Start by applying 2 drops of Ever Oil, warm them in your palms and massage through the hair to minimize frizz and soften it.
You have natural waves
Suna, Milk, Rake, Mare
Wavy hair is the trickiest to manage because it never really picks a side. Too much product and the wave disappears under the weight. Not enough and frizz takes over. REVERIE builds its waves routine around three products, with the promise of sculpting, protecting and hydrating your waves in three steps.
On the cleansing side, REVERIE recommends Suna at least once a week. This salt-free exfoliating shampoo, a rarity on the market, deeply purifies the scalp with its Moroccan rhassoul clay, its hibiscus flower extract (a gentle natural alpha-hydroxy acid) and its complex of fermented essential minerals. A weekly deep cleanse promotes a healthier microbiome and hair that stays clean longer. Follow with the Shampoo and Conditioner duo for daily cleansing.
Milk always first, on damp hair. It's the base that hydrates and prepares the wave to form without interference.
Rake on top, also on damp hair, on the lengths and ends. This whipped balm with an airy texture sits between a curl cream and a finishing cream. Its pH adjusted to 4.9 respects the hair's natural pH. It defines with a flexible, touchable hold, without residue or dryness. Once the hair is dry, gently break up the curls for a more natural, less structured result. Rake is formulated with organic castor oil, organic mango butter, meadowfoam oil and organic pomegranate oil.
A few sprays of Mare for a slightly salty texture, volume and fullness: the perfect result for waves that look like they dried in the sun somewhere between Nice and Amalfi.
The method
Step 1: Start by applying Milk as a base. Use 2 to 4 pumps of product distributed evenly on damp hair, adjusting the amount according to density and length until you reach the desired result.
Garrett's tip: Apply the Milk anti-frizz leave-in treatment to wet hair, right after the shower, to seal in hydration and prevent frizz. Milk is an adjustable product: add more until you reach the desired result. You can also use it on wet hair on the second and third days, between washes, to refresh the hair and tame frizz.
Step 2: Place a small amount of product in your hands, emulsify and apply evenly over the sections using the "praying hands" technique or by combing through with a comb. Set the sections and let dry with a diffuser or air-dry.
Step 3: Finish with Mare. A few sprays at the roots to add volume and on the lengths to texturize. This step can be done on damp or dry hair.
You have defined curls
Cake, Milk , Hymn Gel
The most complete routine in the range, and the most thought-through. REVERIE built it around a root-to-ends approach, because curly hair has needs at every step, from the scalp down to the ends.
Cake is a non-greasy water-based serum, formulated with Swiss apple stem cells (to support follicular health and protect against shedding), hydrolyzed white lupin peptides (to stimulate microcirculation and strengthen the skin barrier), organic Damask rose hydrosol (to soothe dry and irritated scalps) and Indian Senna, a botanical substitute for hyaluronic acid. One to two pipettes on a damp or dry scalp, clean or dirty, massaged in and left on. Daily use recommended.
Milk comes next in a generous amount. Same protocol: very damp hair, lengths and ends.
For very tight curls that call for a more structured hold, Hymn Gel suits every texture, combining versatility and performance.
The method
Step 1: Apply the shampoo to your hands, emulsify it, then apply it to very wet hair. Lather, rinse and repeat for a complete cleanse. If the shampoo doesn't lather on the first wash, your hair needs a double wash. Then apply the conditioner, massaging the lengths and ends. Leave on for a few minutes. Rinse.
Step 2: Apply 2 to 4 doses of Milk evenly on damp or dry hair. Adjust the amount according to thickness and length until you reach the desired result. Suitable for daily use and color-treated hair.
Garrett's tip: Apply the Milk anti-frizz leave-in treatment to wet hair, right after the shower, to seal in hydration and prevent frizz. Milk is an adjustable product: add more until you reach the desired result. You can also use it on wet hair on the second and third days, between washes, to refresh the texture and tame frizz.
Step 3: Apply 1 to 2 pipettes of Cake on a damp or dry scalp (clean or dirty) using the dropper. Place the drops on the scalp, focusing on sensitive areas like the temples, the part and the crown of the head. Massage with your fingertips or with a suitable tool, then leave on. For an optimal result, daily use is recommended.
Step 4: Apply the desired amount of Hymn to wet hair, section by section, using a combing motion. Air-dry or dry with a diffuser. Finish with Ever Recovery oil.
You're after smoothness and volume
Milk, Ever, Hymn Gel
The most pared-back routine. Three products, zero excess.
Milk on damp hair before blow-drying or styling. Its role here is twofold: heat protection and frizz control. Its silicone-free formula leaves no residue that would weigh hair down or interfere with the blow-dry.
Ever before or after drying, for its properties of protection against heat damage and against color degradation, two enemies of hair regularly heat-styled. Its marula, squalane, crambe abyssinica trio penetrates the cuticle to seal in hydration and bring an immediate satiny finish.
Hymn Gel for hold and definition on straight or slightly wavy hair that wants structured volume.
The method
For a sleek look: on wet hair, apply the desired amount of Hymn and use a stiff brush to style the hair. Finish with Ever Recovery oil.
Hymn layers beautifully with the Milk anti-frizz leave-in treatment as a base and Ever Recovery oil as the final step.
You have damaged or weakened hair
Eros, Ever, Milk
This isn't a texture profile but a condition. Brittle, dull hair weakened by color or heat: REVERIE answers it with a three-step repairing ritual, designed to restore the fiber's elasticity and hydration, day after day.
The Eros repairing mask protects, fortifies and revitalizes for instant hydration and radiant shine. It fortifies fragile and brittle hair, improves its elasticity to reduce breakage and restores its hydration for visibly healthier hair.
Ever is a lightweight, ultra-absorbent oil, made of cold-pressed marula oil, biocompatible squalane and crambe abyssinica oil, which delivers an intense dose of nutrients for visibly healthier hair. It strengthens elasticity for better resistance to breakage, protects from heat and prevents fading. Clinical studies on crambe abyssinica demonstrated a +191% improvement in hair elasticity after 12 treatments.
Milk, the leave-in treatment that hydrates, detangles and protects. Formulated with botanical extracts, amino acids and shea butter, it smooths the cuticle, disciplines frizz and brings softness back to the hair without weighing it down.
The method
Step 1: Revitalize your hair with the Eros Resurrection hair mask
After shampooing, apply Eros generously to damp hair, from roots to ends. Massage, then comb to distribute the treatment well. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing. For color-treated, dry and damaged hair, use Eros 1 to 2 times a week. For maintenance, use Eros 1 to 2 times a month.
Hillary's tip: Fitting a hair mask into your daily routine can sometimes be tricky, and I don't always have 20 minutes to turn off the water and wait for the mask to work. That's why I weave Eros into my routine, a practice I call "habit stacking." Here are a few ideas for fitting Eros into your ritual: - Apply it first thing in the morning on hair dampened with a spray bottle; leave it on while you make your coffee, etc. Take a shower and enjoy your day. - Work out with Eros in your hair. - Enjoy a sauna. - Working from home? Apply Eros at any time of day, and shower whenever you like. - Style your hair in a braid or bun with Eros and wash your hair at the end of the day.
Step 3: Apply Ever Recovery oil
Apply a few drops of Ever Oil, starting with 2 and increasing the amount according to the thickness and length of your hair. Warm the oil in your palms, then massage onto damp or dry hair. Use it once a week as a luxurious overnight treatment, as a finishing oil to bring shine and softness, or as a pre-shampoo treatment from roots to ends to combat dryness of the scalp and hair.
What Superskin takes away
REVERIE is the first clean hair brand that genuinely applies skincare logic to its formulas, without making it an empty marketing claim. Every product has an adjusted pH, every active is sourced and documented, and the range is designed to work together as well as separately.

|---|---|---|
| Milk | 4.6 | Leave-in hydration and anti-frizz |
| Rake | 4.9 | Definition and flexible hold |
| Suna | 5.3 to 5.5 | Weekly exfoliating cleanse |
| Cake | 5.5 | Scalp care |
This isn't a brand for those who want a ten-step routine. It's a brand for those who want genuinely healthier hair, with the right essentials, no more.
