Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is the star ingredient of the moment because it is one of the most beneficial for the skin

Like collagen, whose production inevitably declines with age (starting as early as 25), hyaluronic acid, which is naturally produced by the body, sees its production decrease by 6% every 10 years. This leads to the formation of fine lines and sagging skin—the face loses its plumpness. Yet hyaluronic acid and collagen are essential for maintaining skin elasticity and youthful appearance. Collagen provides firmness, and hyaluronic acid nourishes and hydrates collagen.

More specifically, hyaluronic acid is a carbohydrate, a viscous sugar found primarily in the skin, where it is responsible for water retention in the tissues. Its key advantage: it can hold 1000 times its own weight in water. It acts like a sponge, attracting and retaining water to provide instant hydration, smooth wrinkles and fine lines, plump the skin, and give it radiance. It also has antioxidant and healing properties.

BENEFICIAL IN ALL ROUTINES

It is particularly recommended for dehydrated skin due to its moisturizing properties, but it's true that almost all of us suffer from dehydration, even those with the oiliest skin. Dry skin and dehydrated skin should not be confused.

It is also perfectly suited to sensitive skin that needs soothing.

In short, it's suitable for all skin types! It doesn't clog pores or cause irritation. There's no risk in including it in your routine. Everyone can benefit from its properties, regardless of age. It's very easy to use, as it can be applied morning and evening, in all seasons. It's a lifesaver after a long flight, a day in the heat or air conditioning, or before an important evening out.

THE DIFFERENT WEIGHTS OF HYALURONIC ACID

LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT HYALURONIC ACIDS: These contain smaller particles that penetrate deeper. They boost collagen production and improve firmness. This molecular weight is found in formulations known for plumping the skin, filling wrinkles, and restoring tone.

High molecular weight hyaluronic acids are larger, retaining water on the skin's surface, maintaining hydration and protecting the skin against external aggressors. They give the complexion a radiant glow.

Hyaluronic acid is found under different names in cosmetic formulas: sodium hyaluronate, glycoaminoglycan, hyaluronan, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate and sodium PCA.

IDEAL CARE

The action of hyaluronic acid is ephemeral, so it must be constantly supplied to the skin.
