AT SUPERSKIN WE ADVISE ALWAYS ADAPTING YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE TO THE SEASON.
Depending on the season, your skin's needs can change, and it can also adapt to certain ingredients. For the colder months, we like to add more nourishing ingredients with richer, more enveloping textures to keep skin plump and rosy even with dry air, cold weather, and temperature fluctuations caused by heating.
In winter, we also tend to neglect body care due to the cold, lack of sunshine, and a slight dip in energy. Yet, it's the perfect time to pamper yourself. It's raining, it's cold, and evenings out are less frequent, offering extra time to indulge. We've prepared 10 tips to help you ease into winter.
BOOST HYDRATION
We're replacing light textures (gels, fluids, etc.) with richer, more nourishing ones. Cold weather, heating, and dry air dehydrate the skin. To reverse this process, you need to hydrate it with water using ingredients like hyaluronic acid and protect it from dehydration with thicker creams. You can also replace your gel cleanser with a more comforting texture like a balm or lotion.
ADD AN OIL TO YOUR ROUTINE
Oils should be applied as the very last step in your skincare routine. They have the ability to penetrate all the layers applied previously. Oils nourish the skin and prevent dehydration; they're the best way to hydrate it! These oils are suitable for all skin types, even oily skin. We also recommend massaging your face with a Gua Sha tool to ensure the oil is fully absorbed.

ALTERNATE EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE
We recommend alternating your nighttime skincare products; it's a good way to benefit from several active ingredients. You can vary between retinol, acids, and soothing balms. Apply rich, hydrating balms at least two nights a week to soothe the skin and restore its lipid barrier.
SCRUB YOUR FACE AND BODY
Cold weather and temperature changes damage the skin. Cell renewal slows down, which can leave skin feeling dry and flaky. Exfoliation with scrubs helps remove dead skin cells and allows skincare products to be absorbed more easily, making them more effective. Avoid overly abrasive scrubs and limit use to once a week.
MAKING FACE MASKS
In winter, skin becomes dehydrated because the air is drier and the moisture in the skin evaporates. It is therefore important to deeply hydrate your skin by using at least two masks per week, and sometimes leaving them on overnight.
APPLY SUNSCREEN
We advise you to continue wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day during the winter, even if it is cloudy, because UVA rays are just as harmful and accelerate premature skin aging:
CARING FOR YOUR LIPS
Cold, wind, heating: in winter, lips become chapped, tight, and dehydrated. We treat them with scrubs, masks, and balms.
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DIET
Just as with your skincare routine, choose comforting foods like sweet potato, pumpkin, avocado, oily fish… You can also supplement with hydrating supplements like Krill oil and Moringa:
TAKE A BATH
To keep skin soft and protect its hydrolipidic film, take a short bath at a maximum of 38°C. Add oil or bath salts and gently scrub your body with a sponge to remove impurities and nourish your skin. As with your face, moisturize your body thoroughly every day with an oil or cream.
REPAIRING YOUR HANDS AND FEET
Water and cold damage the hands. Therefore, it's important to moisturize them well every day, and the same goes for the feet, which are always confined in shoes.
