Why is my cream fuzzy?

OUR SOLUTIONS TO AVOID THE SMALL LITTLE PLUMBS THAT CAN FORM DURING YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE

There are several potential causes for those little flakes that can form during your routine. This usually happens when you layer multiple products (perhaps too much or too quickly), and the different formulations come into contact with each other, eventually clumping together to form small, unpleasant balls. But beyond that, it can reduce the effectiveness of your products and be a sign that you're not using them correctly. Here are a few easy ways to fix it.

THE 5 CAUSES OF A CREAM THAT LITTLES

APPLY THE CARE IN THE CORRECT ORDER

Your products might be pilling because you're applying them in the wrong order. Products should be applied according to their molecular weight: from lowest to highest. So, start with toner, then a water-based serum, moisturizer, and finally SPF or an oil in the evening. Lightweight, water-based products penetrate the skin more quickly and deeply. Moisturizers and oils are designed to form a protective layer on the skin's surface. Therefore, make sure the lighter layers have been fully absorbed before applying the higher layers.

CHOOSE PRODUCTS FROM THE SAME BRAND

To avoid texture clashes that can occur when layering products from different brands, opt for a simple morning routine. A serum containing vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, along with a hydrating SPF, is often sufficient. We only recommend moisturizing creams for dry skin or if you live in a dry climate. This will prevent your SPF from interfering with your moisturizer.

TAKE YOUR TIME WHEN LAYING PRODUCTS

In the morning, we're always in a rush… but you'll save time by letting your products sit for a while before applying another one, rather than trying to remove lint. Wait about a minute between coats to allow the product to fully penetrate. You can also take this opportunity to perform a lymphatic massage.

APPLY THIN LAYERS

Use only the necessary amount of product; too much can leave residue because the skin is unable to absorb it. The only exception is sunscreen, which must be applied in sufficient quantity to properly protect the skin.

EXPOSE, BUT NOT TOO MUCH

Not exfoliating your skin also plays a role in how products penetrate it. If too much dead skin remains on the surface, it will create a barrier to product absorption. Opt for exfoliation with gentle acids like lactic acid and/or an exfoliating mask a maximum of 1 to 2 times per week. Be careful not to over-exfoliate, as this can damage your skin barrier.
