SOME ACTIVE INGREDIENTS CAN CREATE A VERY BENEFICIAL SYNERGY FOR THE SKIN
Applying too many active ingredients to the skin can be detrimental and weaken the skin barrier, leading to dryness, irritation, or blemishes. But at Bazar Bio, we believe that more is more and don't want to deprive ourselves of all the miraculous active ingredients that nature has to offer.
Certain active ingredients can create a highly beneficial synergy for the skin, multiplying the effectiveness of skincare products and allowing you to address multiple concerns simultaneously. The idea here is not to mix ingredients in a single application, but to layer them to create your own personalized routine tailored to your specific needs.
What are the best pairings to make? And which ones should you absolutely avoid?
HYALURONIC ACID + RETINOL
Hyaluronic acid and retinol create a wonderful synergy. Retinol is a unique anti-aging and anti-blemish ingredient. It stimulates cell renewal and collagen production. Hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates the skin and enhances the action of retinol by nourishing collagen cells. They are therefore essential to each other because their actions are complementary. Hyaluronic acid also helps regulate retinol by increasing skin permeability. Thus, when combined, these two ingredients leave the skin even more radiant, smoother, and more hydrated.
THE GOOD ASSOCIATIONAHA + BHA
These two acids share common actions: they visibly reduce wrinkles and fine lines, make skin noticeably firmer, and correct a dull and uneven complexion. Beta hydroxy acid, or BHA, acts on the skin's surface but also deeper, within the pores. Commonly known as salicylic acid, BHAs are oil-soluble, unlike PHAs, which are water-soluble and therefore only act on the surface. PHAs thus provide gentler exfoliation while hydrating your facial skin. Both are exfoliating acids, helping to remove dead skin cells and refine skin texture. A true ally for oily and problem skin, it gently exfoliates the epidermis, stimulates cell renewal, and prevents clogged pores.
These two acids are effective exfoliants that share the same goal: brighter, smoother skin by removing dead cells. However, this powerful duo works differently, as AHAs are water-soluble and BHAs are oil-soluble. BHAs can penetrate deep into the skin's layers, while AHAs exfoliate the surface.
THE GOOD ASSOCIATIONANTIOXIDANT + SPF
This technique increases protection against oxidative stress and UV exposure. It's an ideal duo to apply in the morning for skin protected against all external aggressors.
THE GOOD ASSOCIATIONRETINOL + VITAMIN C
A powerful anti-aging duo, but unlike other cocktails, they shouldn't be layered. The best way to use them is to apply Vitamin C in the morning and Retinol in the evening. These two ingredients, which we love at Bazar Bio, help achieve brighter, smoother skin. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin during the day and boosts collagen production. Retinol, meanwhile, stimulates cell renewal and collagen production. Those whose skin isn't easily irritated can, however, layer them in the evening. In this case, we recommend introducing Vitamin C gradually (for example, every other night) and applying soothing treatments (such as CBD or Calendula) once a week.
THE GOOD ASSOCIATIONASSETS NOT TO BE MIXED
Retinol and exfoliating acids. If you wish to use these two active ingredients, we recommend alternating them in the evening.
Two different products containing the same ingredients due to the risk of overdose.
