SENSITIVE, INTOLERANT OR REACTIVE SKIN: CARE FOR YOUR SKIN GENTLY

Sensitized skin is actually skin that has "become" sensitive. It is a skin condition rather than a skin type (which ranges from dry to oily). The good news is that it is therefore reversible! Your skin can be considered sensitive if it becomes red, feels hot, tingles, is inflamed, or reacts to ingredients or external factors such as wind, cold, or heating.

Listen to your skin so you can react at the very first signs. If you begin to notice a change in your skin’s texture or the appearance of redness, immediately stop applying overly active products (such as acids, retinol…) and follow our do’s and don’ts!

DO’S

SWITCH TO LED THERAPY

LED light therapy helps reduce inflammation and promotes repair and hydration. Red light soothes inflammation and near-infrared light (which penetrates the deepest) regenerates cells in both the dermis and the epidermis. It is fantastic for accelerating skin healing.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN BARRIER

This barrier acts as a shield that, on one hand, protects the skin from external aggressors and, on the other, helps retain moisture. Sensitive skin is often a sign of a compromised skin barrier.

USE REPAIRING INGREDIENTS

Such as linoleic acid, Calendula, Borage oil, Squalane…

PRIORITIZE NATURAL AND ORGANIC PRODUCTS

For skincare and makeup of course, but also for your diet and household products, in order to avoid exposure to numerous chemical substances.

SOOTHE YOUR SKIN FROM WITHIN

With anti-inflammatory dietary supplements: Chaga, Turmeric...

DON’T

LIMIT SUN EXPOSURE

Most skin issues are caused by UV exposure: wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores and skin sensitivity. It is therefore essential to wear sun protection every day.

AVOID MECHANICAL SCRUBS

As well as AHAs and retinoids until you no longer experience sensitivity. You can then gradually reintroduce these more active ingredients into your routine.

AVOID VERY HOT SHOWERS

And rinse your face with lukewarm water.

AVOID HARSH INGREDIENTS

Such as alcohol, soap, fragrance, emulsifiers and synthetic ingredients. You will not find these ingredients in natural and organic skincare.

ELIMINATE STRESS

We are seeing more and more skin sensitized by stress. During periods of stress, the body secretes glucocorticoids that are responsible for poor cellular renewal. The skin becomes weakened and therefore develops sensitivity.

HOW CAN I KNOW IF A SKINCARE PRODUCT WILL IRRITATE MY SENSITIVE SKIN?

Test it on your neck, as the skin there is thinner. If you do not experience any reaction on your neck, you can be confident that you will not have a reaction on your face.
